JJV produced a series of architectural visualisations for the proposed Stadium for Bath Rugby, a major civic and community-led redevelopment within the heart of Bath’s UNESCO World Heritage city.
Working with the project design team, the imagery was developed to communicate the scale, ambition and sensitivity of the 18,000-seat stadium proposal within one of the UK’s most historically significant urban settings. The visualisations supported planning discussions, design development and public consultation throughout the evolution of the scheme.

Located on a highly sensitive riverside site, the proposed stadium forms part of a wider regeneration strategy for Bath’s Recreation Ground, balancing modern sporting infrastructure with the preservation of key historic views and public realm.
The visualisations focused on demonstrating how the stadium sits within its wider urban context, helping stakeholders understand the relationship between the new structure, the River Avon and the surrounding cityscape.
The latest re-design is a direct result of consultations and public feedback from the initial design back in 2023. The key benefits of these new designs include:
A new curved roof form which reduces the heights, resulting in increased views of the city and surrounding hills
Enhanced landscaping to the river
Redesign of East and West Stand facades
Re-engineered and enhanced seating bowl

Architectural Features
The project represents a significant example of civic and sporting architecture, where design quality, heritage sensitivity and community value must all be carefully balanced. The visualisations helped bridge the gap between concept and understanding, supporting a clearer dialogue around one of Bath’s most important contemporary developments.

A key aspect of the visualisation work was supporting public engagement and planning communication. The CGI helped translate complex architectural proposals into clear and accessible imagery for both technical stakeholders and the wider public.
